The 6.5mm Grendel is among the top contender cartridges amongst the potential replacements for the 5.56x45mm round in military usage.
Based roughly on the 7.62x39mm Russian cartridge, it is typical with this cartridge to fire 123gr bullets at 2600 ft/sec out of an AR15/M16. All that is necessary for a conversion is a new upper receiver and the usage of 16- or 26-round magazines (with the same external dimensions as the 20- and 30-round M16 magazines, respectively).
Brass Fetcher ballistic gelatin testing would like to thank John at http://www.65grendel.com for providing the permission to feature these test results and photographs on the website. We would also like to thank Alexander Arms (www.alexanderarms.com) and Speer (www.speer-bullets.com) for conducting the tests.
