The 7.62x25mm Tokarev round is commonly found in such pistols as the CZ-52 and can propel a 85gr bullet at velocities in excess of 1500 ft/sec, twice as fast as a .45ACP bullet. An arsenal-refurbished CZ-52 sells for as little as 150USD, about 1/3 the price of a new Glock or similar quality handgun.
This higher-than-normal velocity and smaller-than-normal bullet diameter ensures that the 7.62x25mm round exhibits outstanding penetration through hard barriers and soft body armor.
