When considering your response to a self-defense situation, consider that your opponent(s) will have physical skills that might be superior to yours and they will likely have some element of surprise. They will force you to fight on their terms. Additionally, they may have previous experience in deadly-force encounters and little resistance to using this force against you.
In any event, a person with training, proper preparation and equipment will have several advantages over an attacker but you must take every edge that you can get, since the ‘average person’ is still capable of inflicting grievous injury on you with or without the use of weapons. |
