.327 Federal Magnum

The .327 Federal Magnum is a recently-introduced cartridge for revolvers meant to increase the shot capacity of a cylinder while maintaining a high lethality for a cartridge of its size.  A revolver that can hold five shots of .38 Special can hold six shots of the .327 Federal Magnum.

Recoil of this cartridge is about 20% lower than a +P .38 Special in the same weight of revolver, allowing for faster and more precise follow-up shots, while retaining essentially the same effectiveness as the .38 Special +P cartridge.
