Block Core temperature : NA

Bullet Performance:

Various loads were shot at the block, with many of them consisting of pulled and reloaded bullets firing at higher and lower velocities than they functioned from the factory.

Shot 1 - Federal 65gr Hydrashok, pulled, one drop of superglue dryed in cavity to limit expansion. 883 ± 0.500 ft/sec impact velocity , 9.5 ± 0.031" penetration, 0.436 ± 0.0005" average diameter.

Shot 2- Federal 65gr Hydrashok, pulled, two drops of superglue dryed in cavity to limit expansion. 835 ± 0.500 ft/sec impact velocity , 10.0 ± 0.031" penetration, 0.400 ± 0.0005" average diameter.

Shot 3 - Federal 65gr Hydrashok, pulled, two drops of superglue (one drop allowed to dry and another drop dryed on top of it) dryed in cavity to limit expansion. 943 ± 0.500 ft/sec impact velocity , 9.3 ± 0.031" penetration, 0.446 ± 0.0005" average diameter.

Shot 4 - Speer 60gr Gold Dot, pulled, 843 ± 0.500 ft/sec impact velocity, 7.2 ± 0.031" penetration, 0.500 ± 0.0005" average diameter.

Shot 5 - Cor-Bon 60gr, pulled, 571 ± 0.500 ft/sec impact velocity, 9.6 ± 0.031" penetration, 0.312 ± 0.0005" average diameter.

Shot 6 - Cor-Bon 60gr, pulled, 629 ± 0.500 ft/sec impact velocity, 11.1 ± 0.031" penetration, 0.312 ± 0.0005" average diameter.

Shot 7 - Cor-Bon 60gr, pulled, 706 ± 0.500 ft/sec impact velocity, 12.4 ± 0.031" penetration, 0.312 ± 0.0005" average diameter.

Shot 8 - Speer 60gr Gold Dot, pulled, 811 ± 0.500 ft/sec impact velocity, exited side of block at 7.9 ± 0.031" . Bullet not recovered but assumed that expansion occured due to the appearance of the temporary cavity (the 'stretch marks' in the gelatin block behind the bullet).

Shot 9 - Fiocchi 60gr SJHP, factory, 916 ± 0.500 ft/sec, hollowpoint cavity physically altered by making 'x' shaped cut in the lead portion of the hollowpoint with a razor blade and lightly chamfering the lead tip, by hand, with a chamfer bit. Exited side of block at 10.1 ± 0.031" . Lead tip fragmented along the entire bullet path.

Shot 10 - Fiocchi 60gr SJHP, factory, 854 ± 0.500 ft/sec. Perforated entire 16.0 ± 0.031" block and recovered at 0.304" diameter, no expansion.

Shot 11 - Speer 60gr Gold Dot, pulled, 626 ± 0.500 ft/sec impact velocity, no expansion, 9.8 ± 0.031" penetration.
